Personality: Verbally aggressive and not afraid to state her mind, Ruth can come off as rather domineering, a fact that has made it difficult for her to win friends. Despite this, Ruth can be a fiercely loyal person if she decides it’s worth her while. She possesses strong morals and sticks to them zealously. She has quite a sense of humour and frequently uses it in daily speech.

Mother: Agape Dionides [Agafya Denisovna Zolnerowich]: Born July 6, 1953 in the Imperial Quarter, Chrysia, Upper Erebe; claims to have been born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Although she is merely on Earth due to a decades-long assignment, Agape enjoys her life very much, despite the lower social class she found herself in. She cares for all her children, though she is particularly strict with Ruth.
Father: Shane Michael Kendrick: Born September 23, 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Shane seems to suspect his wife is not who she claims to be, but he doesn’t care too much – he’d fallen in love with her and decided that he would stay. He too loves all his children. He currently works as lawyer.
Sibling(s): Andrew Patrick Kendrick: Born December 20, 1973 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Andrew is a rather loud but cheerful man, who enjoys friends and parties. He loves his family but thinks his mother is rather strange. He doesn’t talk with Ruth all that often.

Deborah Louise Kendrick: Born April 9, 1975 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Deborah is the only child, besides Ruth, who knows the ‘truth’ of her mother and sister. She doesn’t really know what to think about it but supports her. She currently lives in Louisiana, working as a nurse.

Background
Born to a mother who had strange ideas and a father who was at the office most of the childhood, Ruth’s childhood was far from normal. From an early age, her mother taught her of strange alien planets and mythological warriors. But she grew up accepting these ideas as normal, though she received a horrible shock when she entered school. Her ideas were ridiculed and she quickly learned to keep her mouth shut about it.

When she was seven, her mother (under the guidance of one of her mother’s ‘alien’ contacts) was able to activate Ruth’s power, allowing her to transform into Hekate. For the next nine years, little else happened; she trained daily in between going to school and trying to have a social life. When she was sixteen, her mother finally confirmed everything she’d ever said; she took her off the planet (in the guise of an extended trip to Russia) and took her to her homeland. It was there that she was given official mandate to train another group of soldiers that were to incarnate on that planet.

But that wasn’t to happen for a while, she was told, and for a while they stayed on the planet. Ruth left reluctantly, returning to her now-boring life on Earth. Two years passed, and she finally received more communication from her ‘patron’ planet. She had met one of the emperor’s sons, Theophanes, while there, and she had apparently struck a chord with him; he was twelve years older than her. Just before she turned nineteen she married him in a carefully-staged ceremony in order to ensure her father did not suspect anything.

She and Theophanes had a short but pleasant marriage. It lasted nearly six years, during which she stayed with him on his planet, adopting their customs and dress. Although they enjoyed their marriage, her time was running short; she would have to return to Earth eventually. They eventually decided it would be best if they divorced, with the ‘official’ reason being that they had not been able to produce a child. Despite that, they parted amicably.

Upon returning to Earth, she chose to resettle in New York City. She lived in a small, rundown apartment, though she owned her own business selling herbal remedies and other ‘New Age’ things. Her business did moderately well, though she stockpiled her earnings for the inevitable move. The move, it seemed, turned out to be quite a while away, and so she continued to live in New York until recently, when she finally received word that it was soon time for her to begin.
