Although he can be kind (and take pity on someone), it depends on the person and circumstances. Has good self-control. When not fighting, can be considered charismatic. Good with words. Quick thinking.

Least Favourites:   Food: Porridge

Personality: Eric could be said to have two faces – on one side, he is a charismatic, humorous man who is well-liked; on the other hand he is a fierce and unrelenting soldier. He is not shy in the slightest, but does not enjoy excessive conversation, particularly with strangers. When not in battle he is polite and respectful of others, women in particular. He tends to enjoy challenging things. Like his reincarnate Alexander, he can also be occasionally sarcastic.

Family Statistics
Mother: Berchta Feldwesten: Born July 20, 233 BCE (967 Sigeardian date). Berchta was an immensely pretty woman in her youth, though her family wasn’t exactly rich. She was a hard-working woman who was fiercely protective of her children. After she became the first lady of the country, she opened a charity for the poor, having vividly recalled what it was like to be there.
Father: Theodoric Adalbert Aloisburg: Born March 30, 236 BCE (964). Theodoric was born into a family of soldiers and thusly became one himself. Having immense self-control to the point of purposefully denying himself things, he was a strict father. He was also rather clever; he and a group of other soldiers managed to successfully overthrow the president in 1012 and became president himself, after which he loosened up, to the point of changing his beliefs to fit in with high society.
Sibling(s): Holda Theodorica Aloisburg-Godan: Born March 1, 211 BCE (989) in Anunda, Getica. Holda looked very much like her mother, though she was far more extroverted than her mother ever was. Before becoming thrust into a position of authority, she primarily worked around the house or helped take care of her younger siblings. Eric had fond memories of her entertaining him when he was little, though he didn’t find her as captivating when he was older.

Adalbert Hengist Aloisburg: Born November 15, 209 BCE (991) in Anunda, Getica. Adalbert, being the first son, was under his father’s influence since the day he was born. He quickly displayed a keen sense of awareness, rigid self-control, and a strong set of morals which he was willing to die for. He also showed obedience to authority; in short, he was the apple of his father’s eye. Unfortunately, he liked pleasing his father and basically surrendered complete control of his life to him. He tried to act as a sort of mentor to Eric, and for a time it worked, but Eric eventually grew disgusted with how tight a grip Theodoric had on his son’s life.

Luitgard Berchta Aloisburg-Raban: Born Born December 7, 205 BCE (995) in Anunda, Getica. Luitgard always felt overshadowed by her exuberant older sister, no matter how hard she tried to assert herself. It was because of this that she always seemed to be the girl in the background who no one really noticed. After a while, she decided not to try and outdo her sister, but excel in places where her sister was weak. She was quite a smart girl, and she drifted into Eric’s favour when he was older. He was fond of her, and wrote to her frequently up until his death.

Gerda Athala Aloisburg [deceased]: Born December 7, 205 BCE (995) in Anunda, Getica; died 132 BCE (1068) in Ilithyia, Selene. Gerda was an anomaly in that she did not marry as was to be expected – instead, she went to Selene. Eric respected her for making her own decisions, unlike the rest of his siblings. She was a gentle, caring woman, and she and Eric (surprisingly) got along splendidly when they were younger. Despite Selene’s matricentric society, she was not nearly as successful as Eric was – she worked in the palace for most of her life there. She died of illness there when she was 73.

Background
Eric Aloisburg was the youngest in his family, which was relatively well-off by the time he came – his father was a soldier and his mother was a housewife. He enjoyed spending time outdoors as a child, playing games with the neighbourhood children. When he was eight, he was sent off to military school, as was custom for soldiers’ sons. He actually enjoyed military school, or as much that was possible. He was a good student there and his teachers spoke highly of him.

When he was twelve, he was abruptly pulled out of school, much to his disappointment, when his father (and a few of his fellow soldiers) overthrew the current president and took the position for himself, backed by the army. His father decided his son didn’t need to be in a ‘common army school’ because he could now pay for a tutor and have his son learn the finer subjects. Eric disliked this idea very much and demanded to be sent back to school. After arguing about it for a bit, Theodoric relented.

He left the school when he was eighteen, after having undergone ten years of training. He was ready to join the army, but once again, Theodoric stepped in – he didn’t want his son in the army if he didn’t have to be. Eric was eventually strong-armed into complying with his father’s wishes, but he couldn’t find anything to occupy his time and so sulked around for a year.

When he was nineteen he left the planet (but not before a long and furious argument between him and his father) to go to Ilithyia, Selene, partly to rebel against his father and partly because his sister was already there. He found it difficult to adjust, as he knew little of their language and customs (and brought little money with him). The first year or so was spent in squalor, living in a ramshackle boarding house in the heart of the crowded capital. He enlisted in their army when cash became low, figuring if he couldn’t be a Getican soldier, he could be an Ilithyian one.

The Ilithyian army – indeed, all of Selene and most of their neighbours – were still fighting with spears and swords and arrows, which seemed very outdated to Eric. Due to his extensive training, or the fact that he knew how to use weapons the Ilithyian army had never been able to get a hold of, he quickly scaled the ranks, implementing as many changes as he could along the way; he assured himself this was for the better. By the time he was fifty he was General of the Army – here, he had full control. He gradually changed the army, slowly adapting them to new weapons and methods of fighting.

Becoming General boosted his social rank to that of the nobility, and due to his daily meetings with the new queen, Selenaia, he came into contact with a certain diamond that, to say the least, intrigued him. Selenaia, being unusually lenient, allowed him frequent glances at it, seemingly aware of his desire for it. Although he had paid little heed to the thought before, he began to consider overthrowing Selenaia to obtain it for himself, assuring himself that the benefits would outweigh the harm.

He “allied” himself with Selenaia’s daughter Theodota in 128 BCE, and this was the move that sparked a long civil war. Backed by the army, he attempted a takeover, but forces loyal to Selenaia, not to mention some foreign troops called in, were not an easy barrier to break – though Eric’s side had technology, Selenaia’s side had numbers, and so they battled it out for years. During that time Eric decided that Theodota was not safe in the palace, and so abducted her to stay with him. She said nothing about this. Rumours began to fly – both within his circle and Selenaia’s men – that she was being poisoned.

Some five years after the war had begun, the end came incredibly quickly – someone, somewhere had done an about-face and revealed his whereabouts, endangering him and Theodota. Not wishing to die for entertainment in a triumph (or worse, the arena), he attempted to flee to the east, where they were loyal to him, to recoup and rethink his strategy, but this was unsuccessful. When the forces caught up with him, they had found everyone in the place dead, having drunk poison. His body was recovered and quietly send back to Sigeard, while in Ilithyia, a damnatio memoriae was in progress; busts were destroyed, military statues had his name chiselled out, and his house was sold and heavily redecorated to cover up any trace of him.

Even though he was dead, he still only saw it as an inconvenient setback, and had full plans to reincarnate as soon as possible and try again. This was changed when he discovered that the diamond he had wanted to possess so dearly had been broken up into several parts and scattered amongst Theodota and her soldiers. This set things back, as he now had to wait for all of them to incarnate at one time – if they ever did – if he had any hope of obtaining the diamond.
